The Jamaica Ex-Police Association Of South Florida Inc is a Non-Profit Organization, established under the Laws Of Florida. Our objectives are to provide social, cultural, athletic programs and educational advancement of its members and associates. ​

Other core objectives of ours are to foster a continuing feeling of friendship and camaraderie among members, as well as to provide assistance to the disadvantaged both here in our local community and back in our native country of Jamaica.

  Brief History

Jamaica Ex-Police Association of South Florida, Inc


In 1992, Clifton George Findlay, a former Jamaican Police officer (JCF) living in South Florida, had the vision to bring together former Jamaican Police officers, who were residing in the South Florida area to establish a social organization.


On Sunday, May 15, 1992, fifty-six (56) former Jamaican Police officers met in Miami, Florida, for a meeting and the Jamaica Ex-Constabulary Association was formed.  Clifton George Findlay was elected as the first President. Vice President Louie Prince, Treasurer Denny Ralph Bent.  Secretary MS:  S. Allen. Assistant Secretary Kenneth Anderson.


On March 27th, 1997, the name was changed to the Jamaica Ex-Police Association of South Fl. Inc. (JEPA).


Current membership of sixty (60) is made up of former members of the JCF, its auxiliaries and persons from the public who are given the title of Associate members. 


In keeping with its mandate and vision, the association began a series of innovative programs, namely:

  1. A scholarship program for Police Youth Club members in Jamaica, (later replaced by JEPAs Annual Jamaica Scholarship for high school students).

  2. JEPA Annual Scholarship for US college students.

  3. Annual Jamaica Police Station Refurbishing project. This project was launched at the Four Paths Police Station, Clarendon, in 2004. The JCF sanctioned and fully supports the organization in this endeavor. Since then we have been refurbishing a different Police Station every year. We have been refurbishing and supplying each Station with appliances, furniture and supplies.

  4. The supply of medical equipment and supplies to Hospital, Clinics, Police Department and the Police Convalescence Center.

  5. Adopt-a-Basic School for a day project.  This project began in 2011 at the Fair Prospect Basic School in the parish of Portland. The association provided Book Bags with educational supplies for all students, JEPA and the local Police Department assisted with the School lunch for a month, members spent the day reading to, mentoring and entertaining the students. All this was made possible by sponsorship from association members, Victoria Mutual Building Society, Air Jamaica Children’s Club, Grace Kennedy/Western Union and Jamaican Association of Dade Educators (JADE). 


These projects are on-going and continue to receive support from stake holders in the South Florida communities. The Jamaica Ex-Police Association of South Florida Inc. remains viable today and relies on the support of the public to help continue its objectives. JEPA will continue their support of local charities and NGOs.


JEPA is registered as a none profit organization in the state of Florida, has 501c (3) status with the IRS and is located at 7153 West Oakland Park Boulevard Lauderhill Florida 33313.
